I bought two tomato plants in April at Home Depot. They looked much healthier than the other specimens but they had no label or price. The guy at the desk just used a sticker from another tomato plant. So, I have no idea what type of tomato this is but it grew and grew into a big boy.
As you can see, it weighs in at 1 lb 5.65 ozs which is the largest I have ever grown. I had its brother the other night with mozarella and basil but forgot to weigh it. I honestly think it was bigger than this.
Here is another one, not quite as big but about the same height as my coffee mug. If my coffee mug was as wide as this, I think I would wired for 24 hours! Quite apart from size, they are absolutely delicious. And the birds know exactly when to eat them. I had to start picking them while still green to stop our feathered friends from devouring them all.
