Wedding of the Year

Arbee and Marie were married yesterday in Oakland, California.  Arbee (left) is the daughter of our friends, Bo and Sorcy (below).  A little while ago, they decided to tie the knot on 12.13.14.  That special day is even more special because it is the last sequential (American-style) date for the next 89 years. The next one won’t be until 01.02.03 (2103).  Waiting for that far off day was not an option!

Add to that one of California’s most savage rain storms after some 8 years of drought the day before the wedding. And, on the day of the wedding, Arbee and Marie could not get to the wedding venue because there were police protesters blocking the roads in Oakland.  When they were stopped by the police, Arbee told them they were going to be late for their wedding.  Like a Hollywood movie, the cops escorted their Uber taxi through the demonstrators, red traffic lights and all road blocks to the wedding venue.  It doesn’t get more exciting than that.

The knot is tied!

The wedding was held in The Impact Hub, a large space that houses business start-ups.  It was cleared out and a stage, tables, chairs, flowers, food and 300 plus guests were installed.

Impact Hub was a great venue for the wedding of the year
