MY GUIDING PHILOSOPHY: EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED, MAINTAIN SOME SORT OF BALANCE,
PUSH HARD AGAINST ADVERSE WINDS, AND DON'T TAKE YOURSELF TOO SERIOUSLY.

Photos from 15th Annual Road Trip

This is our 15th year!  We are conveniently ignoring that we may not have done a 2009 Annual Road Trip and, of course, everyone missed 2020. Thanks COVID!

I already wrote a blog on the fishing part of our trip this year; but here are some extra photos of the other fun parts of our trip.

Schatz is still driving the same old truck.

Our first day out on Waitts Lake.  The Boyz were all smiles and full of optimism. That would soon change to dark depression for one member of the Three Amigos!

Our second day was on Jump Off Joe Lake.  Nobody knows the true story of the name but it seemed to involve someone called--yup, you guessed it, JOE--who said he wanted the wagon to stop and they said: "Well, we ain't stopping here but you can jump off, Joe!"  I know it's corny but my Dad was a colonel.

Rich and I sort of scored on Waitts Lake.  I think this was MINE.  Does that say 18 inches? WOW!

On Saturday morning, the day of the BBQ, we had a savage hail storm.  The BBQ went ahead.  These folks around Bussard lake don't let the weather get in their way. The Pioneer Spirit.  By the way, the pioneer spirit was celebrated with multiple Manhattans made by Wayne.

This is Samantha.  She was in charge of Cody for the day.  She also is a great horse gal (see next photo).

Giddy-up, Harriet!  Samantha was expecting at least a canter or a gallop. What's with this walking thing?

Schatz's two Bussard Lake neighbors and Motoe's family.  We all had a great BBQ and some awesome Filipino food, courtesy Ligaya. Sarap!

I told Wayne to get down off the chair so we would all be the same height.

Chris keeps a close eye on Harriet.  She was looking for the Manhattans.

We spent a beautiful afternoon with Linda at her new home.  She walks over a mile a day.  Wayne didn't want to come home with us.  He sort of fitted in there.

Wayne is OK on the broncos but sure doesn't know how to ride a Zimmer.

This is the Inchelium Ferry. Our boat seemed a bit small next to the Sherman tank.

Twin Lakes--either the North or South Lake depending on whom you talk to and how many Manhattans you've had.

Another big Rainbow/German/ Kokanee Salmon depending on whom you talk to and how many Manhattans they've had.

The big fat one up front is mine.  It was on special at The Safeway

Rich & Wayne saddle up the horses while Yvette checks on the life insurance policy.

Chris & Rich--they just love these horses. Did anyone tell you they gave me a wild horse to ride?
That's why I can only take photos now.

Rich puts Mary Kay through her rodeo moves.

Wayne and Rich appearing in the new movie "Riders of the Purple Sage." It was shot on a backlot in LA.

"Good riding, man."  Will they make it back up to the barn?

God's Own country.  It doesn't get any better than this.
Taken from the window of Rich's V8 Toyota Tundra truck at 80 mph.
We'll be back next year!
