When anything is the13th event or happening or anniversary, it is best to skip it. That's why I said at the end of the last Road Trip blog that we should (in terms of chronology) skip the 13th Annual Road Trip and go straight onto the 14th Annual Road Trip.
Whoever is in charge of these things in the Universe definitely supported this point of view and arranged a global pandemic that has closed down a lot of human activity for quite a few months. Even though Wayne and I went ahead and bought our tickets for travel to Jackson Hole on May 19th, as the time came closer we began to think the 2020 Road Trip might not happen as planned.
And what a plan it was! We would fly out to Jackson Hole and stay for a couple of nights in a house that Wayne's friend owned. Views of the Grand Teton, horses, cowboys, grass-fed everything and croissants and French butter flown in every morning from Paris.
Rich was going to drive from Bussard Lake to Jackson Hole (a 10 hour drive) and join us. We would spend a few days together visiting Yellowstone National Park and the Plains Indian Museum in Cody, WY.
Thereafter, we would spend a couple of days driving back to Bussard Lake via Montana and, after a weekend rest, head off to Priest Lake in Idaho where we would fish and maybe rent a speed boat to explore the whole lake.
Yep, it was a fantastic plan but it will not be happening this year unless Mr. Trump's little "miracle" somehow happens during summer and the pandemic just "disappears". I mean, it is possible because they said that on Fox News too.
All I can say is that the above trip WILL happen but at a time to be determined. Our Annual Road Trips are sacrosanct and they don't get canceled, only paused. So, I am writing this blog in advance and will fill in the exciting details of our trip when it is completed.
Stand by for more soon!
