It is hard to believe that we have been doing these road trips for ten years now. As you can see from the photo below, the years have flown by--but we are just the same!
Well, sort of. Wayne is getting slimmer, fitter and more pogi (autocorrect is trying to make that pogo). Schatz is still growing--in wisdom and locquaciousness. And I am losing hair instead of losing weight! What the hell, we are still moving and enjoying life to the full.
While a more detailed blog is in the works, here are some photos from this year's road trip that may illustrate why, beyond the bonds of friendship, we keep venturing out into the wilds each year--and will continue to do so.
Please note that the captions have got separated from the photos. Just do your best to match them to the photos which follow. Thanks blog2print.com.
OK, that was more than ten photos but who's counting? We now have to start planning the 11th Annual Road Trip. Commodore Schatz has suggested some long-forgotten fishing cabin somewhere in Idaho.
The last time he took us to Idaho, we ended up on the raging Lochsa River in a raft fighting rapids!! We'll think about it. We were younger (and more foolish) back in 2011...

First and foremost, our beloved Bussard Lake where we meet up each year.
Being on the open road with a boat and fishing rods.
Meeting cool people like Ralph who didn't vote for Trump.
Eating real healthy meals where calories don't count. At "Freckles" in Republic, WA.
Watching the sun go down from your your cabin window.
Throwing snowballs in Okanogan National Forest in mid-June.
Fishing early morning on Lake Conconully when all is calm.
Getting to see the legendary Grand Coulee Dam, one of the great sights in America.
Watching real cowboys rounding up real beef outside Conconully.
Coming across staggering scenes like this--the magnificent Columbia River near Grand Coulee.
Catching Kokanee Salmon (and one Rainbow)!
Smelling the flowers and admiring the wild, lonely scenery.
Not shaving and going at full speed in our "new" boat.
Eating our Rainbows, Browns and Silvers back home with the Schatz family.
