MY GUIDING PHILOSOPHY: EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED, MAINTAIN SOME SORT OF BALANCE,
PUSH HARD AGAINST ADVERSE WINDS, AND DON'T TAKE YOURSELF TOO SERIOUSLY.

Snowzilla Continues...

It is 8.10AM and the snow continues.  I don’t think we had the high winds that were promised but there do seem to be a few gusts now and again.  I just stuck my tape measure into the snow on the deck and it is showing 21 inches right outside the window.  However, if I measure the snow against the window from the inside, it shows 13.5 inches. I guess the deeper snow has been blown up by the wind.  On the table, the deepest point is 26 inches.  Maybe we will reach the D.C. record on my table, at least!!

The deck looks different this morning

Here’s what The Washington Post has to say:

By 7 a.m., 14 inches of snow had fallen at Reagan National Airport. More snow and even stronger gusts are expected later today, as a blizzard warning remains in effect.

Looking out of the garage

According to the Weather Channel app on my iPhone, billowing snow and blizzard conditions will continue until 11PM tonight.  I will keep you updated and will attempt to go for a walkabout later to see what the ‘hood looks like.  Meanwhile, coffee and a fry up seem like a good idea!
