MY GUIDING PHILOSOPHY: EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED, MAINTAIN SOME SORT OF BALANCE,
PUSH HARD AGAINST ADVERSE WINDS, AND DON'T TAKE YOURSELF TOO SERIOUSLY.

Gaylord Opryland Resort, Nasheville

We had just driven 700 miles and were within 10 miles of Nashville. Regee checked on the nearest hotel to us on the I-40 and came up with the Gaylord Opryland Resort.  Not exactly in Nashville but we just needed a place to crash.  I had no idea what a Gaylord Resort was but it turned out to be a vast 3-acre hotel totally encased in glass with endless restaurants, gardens, waterfalls and in excess of 2,000 rooms (no kidding)!!  Just the quiet, intimate little place you need after a long drive.

A quiet refuge

Waterfalls everywhere

The lobby had cleared out after midnight.
Earlier, it was like Union Station.

The next morning we had an early breakfast and looked around.  The other 10, 000 people were not up yet.  But, sadly, we missed the Grand Ole Opry.  Next time!
